Kalafina - Obbligato lyrics

Kalafina (カラフィナ)
obbligato
Lyrics English Translation & Romanized

Album: Consolation

Japanese / Kanji Lyrics 歌詞

奇麗な感傷が
壊れた海に風を呼んでいる

静かに舞い落ちる
綿毛のように夜を埋めて行く

琥珀の波 錆びた小舟は
月の引力擦り抜けて行く
愛を囁く腕は白く
水の表に輝いていた

甘く canto lamento
眩しい夜の波紋の中で
繰り返す恋のうた
obbligato
寄り添いながら二つの声は
一つになれないまま

額に刻まれた印のように
細い手を取った

無数の感情が
音符のように胸を埋めて行く

生まれる前に消えて行くうた
閉じた瞼を慰めるもの
私のことを忘れずにいて
声もかたちも失くした後も

canto lamento
真珠のような吐息連ねた
満ち潮の首飾り
obbligato
寄せて離れて二人の声は
帰らぬ波のように

English Translation Lyrics

A beautiful sentimentality
calls forth the wind in the broken sea

Burying the night
like down quietly fluttering in the wind

The rusted boat on the amber waves
slips through the moon’s gravity
The arms that whisper of love
whitely shone on the surface of the water

Sweetly singing a canto lamento
within the bright ripples of the night
a song of love repeats
obbligato
As they nestle close together two voices
remain unable to become one

As if the proof were engraved on my brow
I took your slender hand

Countless emotions
fill my heart like musical notes

The song that was disappearing before I was born
comforts my closed eyelids
Even after my voice and form have been lost,
don’t forget me

canto lamento
Sighs like pearls strung together
form the necklace of the high tide
obbligato
As they draw near and part, our two voices
are like waves that do not return

Translator's Note: From wikipedia: In classical music obbligato usually describes a musical line that is in some way indispensable in performance. It can also be used, more specifically, to indicate that a passage of music was to be played exactly as written, or only by the specified instrument, without changes or omissions. The word is borrowed from Italian (an adjective meaning fixed; from Latin obligatus p.p. of obligare, to oblige; the spelling obligato is not acceptable).

From what I can work out canto lamento means 'song of lament' or 'lamenting song' or something along those lines.
