This AKB48 scandal is causing uproar. Asahi, Sankei, and other news organizations reported on Friday that Kodansha is under investigation by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department for possible child pornography charges due to the book and its promotion in Young Magazine. Masaaki Hiruma, a media commentator with experience in editing weekly magazines, projected that the incident will cost Kodansha more than 300 million yen (about US$3.4 million) for just revising and reprinting the magazine issue alone. (Hiruma's estimate does not include the cost of cancelling the photo book entirely.)
Here are oshimen / fans thoughts about this:

I thought I should say something.
I am not good with words and English isn’t even my first language. But seeing the undying Kasai-hate, I thought I should say something.
Something positive. Something nice about her.
I don’t know Kasai personally. None of us do. But I know very well her idol persona - be it the real her or an act she put on all these years. And I like that idol persona, a lot.
Going into AV, child pornography,… I don’t believe any of those bs people sent under anonymous. Milky was naked in Mirugami, blurred by the glass window - so she’s gonna be an AV actress too? Look at Mayuyu’s photobook cover, is that a suggestion for her future career? I accept the fact that Kasai’s photobook cover was inappropriate - BUT for the presence of the little kid, not how much she stripped.
Do you think she wants to? Do you think a girl who cried and left a handshake event due to some creepy guys coming up to her and said things like “hey, I masturbated to your photo”, do you think such a girl wants to have such a picture as her photobook cover? Do you think it is her idea to have the kid there? Do you think she has a choice? You can never bite the hand that feeds you - she can never publicly blames the publisher or her agency for thinking of such idea.
For 6.5 years she worked hard. For 6.5 years, she received a lot of support. A serious mistake and some scandalous photo can never erase that fact, can never erase 6.5 years of hard work.
I don’t need to send this as a confession or whatsoever because I’m proud to say my oshimen is Kasai Tomomi. I want people to know that I am. I’m proud and I have nothing to fear when using my main tumblr account to say this - I still love and support Kasai Tomomi.

After reading something calling her disgusting if she did it willingly and a coward bitch if she went into it while less than willing, I decided to add my two cents and a few possible perspectives.
First of all, Chiyuu is an idol. Idols have almost every bit of their life scripted and controlled. Idols don’t get to decide what they do and don’t want to do, or whether they do it. You don’t wanna do this? Fine, you’re out. You do what you’re told to do because you want to stay where you are. As someone who wants to stay in the entertainment industry, she can’t really afford to refuse to do things and be let go of. Sure, if she did it willingly even though hesitant about it perhaps she didn’t necessary make the “best” choice, but she would have made the choice that she thought best for her. I’m sure you can easily think of several instances of this happening just in your own life.
There’s also always the chance that she went into it willingly, and didn’t see what was going on at the time. Sure, you might think “how would she not see that” but lots of things are done not realizing all the implications. The thought of “child porn” might just have never crossed her mind, the concept that they were going with could have been something completely different than what other people saw, whatever. Just like Heavy Rotation was meant to be a video showing things such as their innocence, and you all know what people’s impressions of that are. The Puccho ad too, I’m sure they wouldn’t have expected criticism for “being unsanitary” or “playing with food”, and “promoting homosexuality”. Maybe the last could have been considered by them, but they thought they were straying away from being too extreme. It’s difficult, trying to barely push a line for something and accidentally going way over it in the eyes of other people.
Not saying any of this is what happened, just that there’s so many other ways to look at it than the few ways that have been going around and yeah idk
